Oregon State

Not slowed down by a 4-hour, 31-minute weather delay, Oregon State baseball stayed alive at the College World Series by defeating Washington 14-5. The Beavs trailed 5-4 with two outs in the top of the sixth and the bases juiced when the game was delayed because of a pending thunderstorm before unleashing an offensive onslaught against the Dawgs.

Washington

Seattle Times columnist Larry Stone writes a memoriam on the 2018 Washington baseball season with an eye toward potential future success for the program.

UCLA

UCLA women’s basketball has signed Baylor transfer Natalie Chou to a GIA scholarship. Chou, who will be a redshirt junior at UCLA next season, was the No. 8 prospect in her high school recruiting class according to HoopGurlz.

USC

Joey Kaufman details De’Anthony Melton’s NBA Draft prospects after a season in which he did not play due to the FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball. The former Trojan figures to be a late-first round pick.

Arizona

The Arizona Daily Star continues its countdown of the 10 most valuable Wildcat football players of 2018 (besides Khalil Tate) with No. 8 pick Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles. The returning senior has compiled 159 tackles over the past two seasons to go along with 14 pass breakups and five interceptions.

Oregon

Check out this 12-minute documentary on Chris Boucher entitled “Grind Now, Shine Later: The Chris Boucher Story.” I would have recommended a few more audio drops from a certain Pac-12.com blogger from Boucher’s time in Santa Cruz in the film, but it’s a great doc otherwise.

Arizona State

Arizona State men’s basketball will face Cal State Fullerton in the 2018-19 season opener on Nov. 6, the school announced Monday.

California

News on the athletics front is a little slow this time of year, so we figured this would be an opportune time to let you know that UC Berkeley is offering a class on R&B singer Frank Ocean in the fall. Complex has the details (originally reported by The Fader).

Stanford

Stanford women’s volleyball released its 2018 schedule on Monday in conjunction with the Pac-12 Networks release of volleyball matches to be televised on the Mothership (the Cardinal will be featured in 18 of the 88 matches).

Utah

Kurt Kragthorpe whips up this article on the Utah-BYU football game returning to a November date. This will be the first time that the Utes and Cougs will meet in the last game of the regular season since they were in the Mountain West in 2010.

Washington State

From last Friday – Washington State men’s basketball added walk-on James Streeter, while guard Kwinton Hinson will not return due to personal reasons (Associated Press).

Colorado

Brian Howell features Colorado assistant vice chancellor/associate AD Ben Broussard, who is tasked with a lot of fundraising duties. Probably one of the toughest gigs in college athletics; glad I don’t have to do it.
