Oregon State

The Beavs are College World Series champions! They took down Arkansas, 5-0, Thursday night in Omaha to win the baseball program's third natty (2006, 2007) and the Pac-12's 513th all-time NCAA championship. Ken Goe of The Oregonian has you covered with a great game story and a full photo gallery.

Even more good news in the Pac-12 baseball world: Cal first baseman Andrew Vaughn was named the program's first-ever Golden Spikes Award winner Thursday night. The Golden Spikes Award is considered to be the Heisman Trophy of college baseball.

This could be interesting: According to Florida State Athletic Director Stan Wilcox, UCLA (and USC) are on the Seminoles' radar for future football home-and-home series. That would mean a return to Pac-12 territory for new FSU head coach and former Oregon head honcho Willie Taggart.
