Stanford

The preseason watch list for the Dodd Trophy – a national coach of the year award – is out. Stanford's David Shaw is on the watch list along with USC's Clay Helton and Washington's Chris Petersen.

Darryl Rogers, one of ASU football's most successful coaches post-Frank Kush, died Wednesday at age 83. Jeff Metcalfe of the Arizona Republic memorializes him beautifully.

Welcome Toby Stevenson to Seattle, track & field fans. He's the latest addition to the UW staff,  and a good one at that. He won NCAA titles and Olympic medals back in the day, and since then has coached athletes to their own NCAA titles and Olympic medals.
