MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Alex Chang, Jr., California (Berkeley, Calif.)

• Went 3-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles across Cal’s victorious matchups over Utah (April 6), UC Santa Barbara (April 7), and Saint Mary’s (April 7).
• Clinched the 4-0 win over the Utes with a 6-1, 6-4 singles win over Jayson Bando, also adding a 6-2 win in doubles. 
• Took a 6-4, 6-4 singles victory on court three against UCSB’s Lucca Liu in Cal’s hard-fought, 4-3 team win.
• Capped his weekend with a 6-3, 6-1 singles win over Saint Mary’s’ Diego Jarry and clinched the doubles point with partner Mikey Wright.
• Earns his second Player of the Week honor of the season, having won the award on March 19 after guiding the Golden Bears to team victories against Oregon and Washington.

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Bianca Fernandez, Fr., UCLA (Montreal, QC, Canada)

• Went 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles across UCLA’s trio of victories last week, securing team wins over CSUN (April 3), then-No. 47 Utah (April 5), and then-No. 72 Colorado (April 7).
• Opened her week with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Victoria Sanibañez Luna of CSUN, also taking down Santibañez Luna and Cindy Ung in doubles (6-2).
• Earned singles and doubles wins against Utah before earning a hard-fought 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 singles win over Mila Stanojevic of Colorado. 
• Paired with fellow freshman Ahmani Guichard for an undefeated week of doubles, finishing with a 6-1 win over Ema Bubalo and Anya Nelson of Colorado.
• It’s the sixth Player of the Week honor for the Bruins this season, the most by a Pac-12 women’s team since Cal compiled six in 2016. It’s also the most all-time in a season in program history for UCLA.
