Bears Begin Competition At Mt. SAC Relays

Carolina Visca improved her season high by over four meters on Thursday.

WALNUT – Two women from California track & field started off this week's slate of competition for the Golden Bears on Thursday night, competing in two elite events at the Mt. SAC Relays.
 
Sophomore Carolina Visca appeared in the women's javelin elite section, beginning with a season-high 49.36m (161-11) on her first attempt and improving in each of her first five throws to eventually take fourth place at 53.31m (174-11) – a full 4.24m (13-11) farther than her previous season high. That mark moved her up to 15th on the women's Division I list this season.
 
Over on the track, classmate Georgia McCorkle competed in the elite section of the 3000m steeplechase but did not finish the race.

UP NEXT
The Bears will appear in full force throughout Friday's collegiate events at the Mt. SAC Relays, beginning with the women's high jump C section at 9 a.m. PT.
