Apr 23, 2024

PULLMAN, Wash. – The California women's golf team wrapped up the 2024 Pac-12 Championships on Tuesday at Palouse Ridge Golf Club, moving up in the standings for the second straight day thanks to its best round of the tournament. Led by sophomore Olivia Lee, the Golden Bears shot 2-under-par 286 as a team and closed out the competition in ninth place.

Lee (75-71-69 – 215) turned in the Bears' best individual round of the tournament, carding a 3-under 69 that saw her put away six birdies. After starting the day with a birdie on hole 10, she would later catch fire midway through the round, knocking in three straight birdies on holes 16 through 18. Her 3-under was tied for the sixth-best score out of the 55-golfer field.

Lee finished at 1-under 215 overall, tying for 16h place individually to lead Cal. This is the second time that Lee has finished with the best score on the team and the third time that she shot under par through 54 holes.

Fellow sophomore Adora Liu (75-71-71 – 217) recorded a 1-under 71 for the second straight day, moving her up four spots on the final day. Starting on 15, Liu had four birdies over a six-hole span. She finished one stroke ahead of Constance Fouillet (74-71-73 – 218), who ended her first Pac-12 Championships in 26th place. Fouillet has now finished in 27th place or better in nine out of 10 tournaments as a freshman.

Seniors Cristina Ochoa (83-75-73 – 231) and Rina Tatematsu (82-74-74 – 230) both joined Lee and Liu in posting their best scores of the week. Ochoa carded a 1-over 73 on the day that contributed to Cal's score.

The Bears will now look ahead to tomorrow's NCAA selection show, which will air on the Golf Channel beginning at 11 a.m. PT. A total of 72 teams and six individuals not on those teams will be headed to one of six NCAA Regional sites from May 6-8 to compete for a spot at the NCAA Championships.
