Women's Golf Selected to NCAA Las Vegas Regional As No. 3 Seed

Apr 24, 2024

TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 16 Arizona Women's Golf learned of its NCAA postseason future during Wednesday's NCAA Selection Show on Golf Channel, which saw the Wildcats selected as the No. 3 seed at the NCAA Las Vegas Regional. From May 6 to 8, Arizona will take on 11 other programs over 54 holes at Spanish Trail Country Club with the top five teams from the regional advancing to the NCAA Championships.

"You prepare and practice all year to play your best golf in May," said head coach Laura Ianello. "Staying out west is an added benefit for us, but we know that NCAA Regionals are about taking what you've learned and grown from all fall and spring and playing your best golf. This team has a lot of postseason golf experience and are excited to go out and compete for the University of Arizona."

After three consecutive years at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, the NCAA Championships have moved from the state of Arizona to Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. The Wildcats won the NCAA Raleigh Regional a year ago on the campus of NC State University, collecting its sixth NCAA Regional championship in program history.

This year's selection to compete in Las Vegas also marks the third time in the last four seasons that the Wildcats have stayed out west for NCAA Regionals after competing at New Mexico in 2022 and at Stanford in 2021.
