Huskies Beat Utah, Fall to Stanford

Apr 25, 2024

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Huskies earned their 20th win of the season when they beat Utah 3-0, but it wasn't enough to keep dancing in the Pac-12 championship. Despite this robust win, they fell to No. 3 Stanford 0-3 in their final dual of the Pac-12 Championship.

Utah Dual

The day started strong when the Huskies swept the Utah Utes for the second time this season, extending their winning streak against that team to eleven. They have never lost to the Utes in program history.

Kendall Mather and Kierstyn Barton (No. 3) produced another great showing this week as they earned the first win of the tournament for the Dawgs. The duo won the first set by three points and then put their stamp on the win with a double-digit victory.

Sarah Wilcock and Brooke Balue (No. 5) won two straight sets after dropping the first one by three. The duo responded by winning the following two sets.

Zoey Henson and Lauren Wilcock (No. 2) easily defeated their Utah counterparts, winning both sets by at least eight points.

The number one and four pairs both lead the lead in their respective matches before they were abandoned.

Stanford Dual

After the Utah victory, the Huskies faced a tough opponent in Stanford. They dropped the dual to the No. 3 team. That loss ended their Pac-12 Championship run. The bright spot came in the way they played – the Huskies stayed competitive with all their pairs scoring at least 20 points or winning a set against the Cardinals.
