Lacrosse Finishes Regular Season in Colorado

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon lacrosse plays its final regular season game of the season when it travels to take on Colorado at 5 p.m. PT on Friday. After breaking the program record for home wins in a season with last Saturday's 20-12 thrashing of Arizona State, the Ducks are looking to reach nine wins for just the second time since joining the Pac-12 in 2018.
 
Oregon is still in position to quality for the Pac-12 Tournament and could seal the deal with a win on Friday. Should UO be dealt a loss, it will be relying on a loss by San Diego State in its game against No. 21 USC on Saturday.

MENACING MIDFIELD
Oregon's midfield trio of Morgan McCarthy, Anna Simmons and Rachel Pallo have been a do-it-all combo for the Ducks this season. The trio has started each of UO's 13 games and combined for 85 goals, 118 draw controls and 49 caused turnovers.

  • Simmons and McCarthy are the only players in the Pac-12 with 30+ goals and 15+ caused turnovers this season.
  • Pallo is one of two players in the league with 50+ draw controls, 25+ ground balls and 10+ caused turnovers. Her 55 draw controls are the sixth most in a season in program history.
  • Trio has accounted for 61.5 percent of Oregon's draw controls (118/192).

McCARTHY MAGIC
Senior midfielder Moran McCarthy continues to be a leading presence for Oregon after being named an All-Pac-12 second-team selection for a second consecutive season in 2023. McCarthy led Oregon with 37 goals last season and has set a new career high in 2024 with 38 thus far.

  • Eight hat tricks this season with three 5+ goal games.
  • 11th Duck to score 100 career goals.
  • Joined the Pac-12's top-10 all-time goal scorers after scoring her 115th against Arizona State.
  • One of 10 players nationally with 35+ goals, 30+ draw controls and 15+ caused turnovers. McCarthy is the only player in the conference with those numbers.
  • Third in program history with 163 career draw controls.
  • Scored a career-high six goals against Furman (March 10).
  • Named the Feb. 27 Pac-12 Offensive POTW after netting five goals and assisting two against Marist.

SUPER SIMMONS
Sophomore midfielder Anna Simmons has been a revelation for Oregon this season. The youngest of the Ducks' six team captains is second on the team with 33 goals and leads the Ducks with 19 caused turnovers.

  • Two games with six goals and five total hat tricks this season.
  • Broke the program record for fastest goal, scoring in five seconds against Marist. Did so again against UC Davis.
  • Tied for fifth in the Pac-12 with 19 caused turnovers.
  • Career highs in goals (33), assists (6), points (39), caused turnovers (19) and draw controls (32).

DETERMINED DEFENSE
Oregon's defense has been its calling card in 2024, holding eight opponents under 10 goals after doing so just three times across the last three seasons combined. The Ducks' goals against average of 10.47 is third in the Pac-12 this season.

  • Averaging 9.62 caused turnovers per game, second in the Pac-12.
  • Three players in the Pac-12's top 10 for caused turnovers: Simmons (19), McCarthy (17) and Sydnie Soto (15).
