UCLA had another strong season under fifth-year head coach Ryan Jorden in 2023. The Bruins finished 9-4-5 overall, won the Pac-12 title in the league's final season, and reached the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. UCLA earned the 2023 Pac-12 title in dominant fashion, going undefeated with a 6-0-4 record en route to their first conference title under Jorden. Tucker Lepley earned three third-team All-America honors, while six Bruins were placed on the Pac-12 end-of-season honorees list with Lepley named to the first team, and Jose Contell, Jack Sarkos, and Tommy Silva each named to the second team. To conclude the season two Bruins, Grayson Doody (1st round - 10th overall to CF Montreal) and Lepley (3rd round - 62nd overall to LA Galaxy), were selected in the MLS Super Draft, while Tommy Silva signed a homegrown contract with Real Salt Lake.

The Bruins return a core group of players as they make the transition to the Big Ten Conference in the fall of 2024. Contell, Tarun Karumanchi, Pietro Grassi, Andre Ochoa, and Sam Joseph all started 10 or more games in 2023, while other returning student-athletes who were key contributors in 2023 that return to Westwood include JC Cortez, Pablo Greenlee, Philip Naef, Wyatt Nelson, Sebastian Rincon and Cam Wilkerson.
