Utah falls 4-1 to UCLA in Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinals

OJAI, Calif.  – The Utah women's tennis team took on the No. 1 seeded UCLA Bruins in the quarterfinal round of the Pac-12 Tournament and fell 4-1 in the quarterfinal round. 

Utah fell to UCLA in the doubles round. Ana Luiza Cruz and Marcela Lopez were up 5-2 in their set before the doubles point was claimed by the Bruins. 

In singles action, Utah got a win at the No. 3 spot where Kat Lyman defeated Bianca Fernadez 6-2, 6-1. 

The Bruins then picked up wins in the No. 5, No. 1 and No. 4 courts to claim the overall match victory with a 4-1 score. 

Lopez picked up a 6-1 win in the first set and dropped her second set in a tiebreak 7-6. She was unable to start the third set before the match went unfinished. 

Sara Akid picked up a 6-4 win in her first set and lost her second 6-1. She was ahead 1-0 in the third set before the match was clinched.
