UCLA Rowing Prepares for Saturday's Dexter Lake Invitational

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's rowing program returns to the water this Saturday, April 27, at the Dexter Lake Invitational, hosted by Oregon State. Other teams competing on Saturday include Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount, Minnesota, UCF, USC and Wisconsin.

The Bruins head to the Big Ten Invitational with 10 individual boat race wins on the season, and were ranked as high as No. 19 in the country back in early April.

Last time out the Bruins competed with some of the best teams in the country at the Big Ten Invitational in Sarasota, Florida. UCLA's second varsity eight boat, and third varsity eight boat both earned wins on the weekend, with the third varsity eight crew winning once on both Friday and Saturday.

UCLA won four races at the Lake Natoma Invitational on April 6. The second varsity eight crew picked up their second win in as many regatts, winning their in the morning session. The Bruins varsity four and second varsity four also earned wins in the morning, and the second varsity four also won their race in the afternoon session.

To kick off the spring slate the Bruins won three of five races in a tri-meet with USC and LMU to open the season back on March 23. UCLA's second varsity eight, varsity four, and second varsity four all picked up wins on senior day.
