Apr 27, 2024

LOS ANGELES – USC offensive lineman Jarrett Kingston was selected by the San Francisco 49ers as the 39thpick of the sixth round (215th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Kingston is USC's 527th all-time NFL draftee. USC is second behind Notre Dame's 531 for most NFL Draft picks all-time.

Kingston is the 12th Trojan offensive lineman drafted since 2010.

He is the first Trojan picked by the San Francisco 49ers since OLB Drake Jackson was selected in the second round with the No. 61 overall pick in 2022.

Kingston was an important member of the Trojan offensive line during his one year at USC in 2023. He played in 12 games with 11 stars (6 at right guard and 5 at right tackle). He helped protect Caleb Williams who led USC head coach Lincoln Riley's high-powered brand of offense, resulting in USC ranking No. 3 in the nation in scoring offense (41.8), No. 3 in team passing efficiency (170.88), No. 5 in passing offense (333.0) and No. 10 in total offense (467.6).

Prior to USC, Kingston was at Washington State. As a starter in 2022, he was named an All-Pac-12 Conference Honorable Mention. He started first nine games of the season at left tackle. In the Cougar's win over Idaho, he earned the best run-block grade among all Pac-12 offensive line and the eighth-best in the country by PFF. He was named the Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week for his performance in Washington State's 17-14 win at No. 19 Wisconsin allowing 0 pressures in 50 snaps. He suffered season-ending leg injury versus Stanford. He did not allow a sack in 398 pass snaps and earned the third-best pass-blocking grade among Pac-12 offensive tackles according to PFF.

As a redshirt junior in 2021, he started in all 13 games of the season – the first 12 games at left guard and the final game at left tackle at the Sun Bowl against Central Michigan.

He started all four games at left guard in the abbreviated 2020 Pac-12 season as a redshirt sophomore.

As a redshirt freshman in 2019, he appeared in 10 games at left guard against New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, UCLA, Colorado, at California, Stanford, Oregon State and at Washington.

On Thursday (April 25), USC Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Caleb Williams was selected No. 1 overall by the Chicago Bears in the first round. With Williams' No. 1 overall selection, USC now holds the record for most players (6) selected as the top pick of the NFL Draft.

On Friday (April 27), USC First Team All-American safety Calen Bullock was selected by the Houston Texans as the 14th pick of the third round (78th overall) and running back MarShawn Lloyd was selected by the Green Bay Packers as the 25thpick of the third round (88th overall).
