Pac-12 Championships Begin Friday in Boulder

BOULDER, Colo. – The postseason begins Friday with the 2024 Pac-12 Track and Field Championships, this year hosted by Colorado at Potts Field. The conference meet starts Friday at 10 a.m. (PT) with the women's javelin and start of the heptathlon.
 
The broadcast schedule for the Pac-12 Championships includes various single-event broadcasts during the first two days before Sunday's extended live show on the Pac-12 Networks.

4:50 p.m. – 10,000 meters | Pac-12 Network + Pac-12 Arizona, Montana, Oregon, Washington
 
The Women of Oregon, ranked third in the country, are the defending Pac-12 champions while the UO men finished sixth a season ago at the conference meet in Walnut, Calif. The Ducks will have 10 scoring opportunities—five men, five women—across six events Friday.
 
Men
10,000 Meters: Devin Hart, Izaiah Steury
Javelin: Gavin Korkeakoski, Asher Krauel, Zach Young
 
Women
10,000 Meters: Maddy Elmore, Anika Thompson
Long Jump: Alysah Hickey
Hammer: Shelby Moran
Javelin: Kohana Nakato
 
Moran won the Pac-12 title a season ago with a then-school record, a measure she improved earlier this month with a conference-leading 70.02m/229-9 at the Desert Heat Classic. Hickey, a runner-up last year in the long jump, is a past two-time champion (2021, '22) in the event.
 
Other past Pac-12 individual champions set for competition this weekend are Elliott Cook (800m/2022), Shana Grebo (400H/2023) and Jadyn Mays (100m/2023). Mays is also a three-time Pac-12 champ in the 4x100 relay. Last year, she teamed with Lily Jones, Shaniya Hall and Ella Clayton for the win.
 
Along with finals and the start of combined events, Friday's schedule includes preliminary rounds in the 200 meters, 1500 meters and 400-meter hurdles.
 
Conference weekend is also the final chance to record or improve regional marks. At week's end, the 48 declared athletes—and top 24 relays—in each region advance to the NCAA Preliminary rounds (May 22-25). This year's West Preliminary will be held in Fayetteville, Ark.
