SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Led by senior Brad Reeves' individual victory in a playoff, ARIZONA captured the team title of the 2021 Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships at par-72, 6,785-yard Mayacama Golf Club on Wednesday. The Wildcats posted a four-round team total of 41-under-par to claim their fourth-ever Conference title and first since 2004.

No. 16 Arizona (-41, 1399) outdueled desert rival and runner-up No. 9 ARIZONA STATE (-37, 1403). No. 37 STANFORD made a hard charge on the final day, posting the second-best team score in relation to par in Championships history at 24-under 336 to close in third place (-35, 1405).

Cardinal fifth-year Henry Shimp, who trailed by four shots entering the final round, matched the Mayacama course record with an 8-under 64 to force the playoff with Reeves.

The pair parred No. 1 to force a second playoff hole. Shimp, who eagled the par-5 18th to force the playoff, missed the green long and made par, while Reeves converted a tap-in birdie to give Arizona its first Pac-12 medalist since 2008.

Pac-12 teams will now turn their attention to postseason competition which will begin with NCAA Regional play May 17-19 followed by the NCAA Championships hosted by Arizona State at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 28-June 2. The NCAA Selection Show will air on GOLF Channel on May 5 at 11:00 a.m. PT.
