Arizona clinches share of 2021 Pac-12 Baseball title, earns NCAA auto bid

SAN FRANCISCO - By virtue of its 6-5 come-from-behind victory at Oregon State and coupled with favorable league results on Sunday, ARIZONA (38-14) clinched at least a share of the 2021 Pac-12 Baseball regular-season title and secured the Conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Championship.

With the win, the Wildcats conclude Pac-12 play at 21-9 (.700) - three games clear of second place OREGON (35-13, 18-9), which can still claim a share of the Conference crown with a series sweep in its league finale at California next weekend.

Arizona took 2-of-3 games in the season series versus Oregon in late March and therefore has earned the Pac-12's automatic postseason berth.

The 21 Conference wins are the second-most ever for the Wildcats (23 in 1989), who claimed their first Pac-12 auto bid and second league title share since division play ended in 1999 (shared with UCLA in 2012). 

Selections for the 2021 NCAA Baseball Championship will be revealed on Monday, May 31 at 9:00 a.m. PT on ESPN2. The 64-team field will begin play at 16 regional sites from June 4-7, followed by Super Regionals June 11-14 and the NCAA College World Series in Omaha, Neb., June 19-29/30.

The Wildcats (No. 6 RPI) headline a trio of Pac-12 programs ranked in the RPI Top 20 and vying for 1-of-16 regional host sites along with the Ducks (No. 14) and STANFORD (No. 17). Three other Pac-12 teams are ranked in the RPI Top 40 in OREGON STATE (No. 21), ARIZONA STATE (No. 32) and UCLA (No. 38).
