Half the Pac-12 is ranked in the men's 2022 United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25, including Washington and Oregon State who cracked the top 5.

It’s the first time the Pac-12 has had two preseason top-5 teams since 2003.

The Huskies check in at No. 3 in the poll, returning 28 players from a historic 2021 season in which they finished as the national runner-up and with an 18-2-2 record.

The Beavers are ranked No. 5 after their best season in program history, winning their first-ever Pac-12 title and earning a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament before falling in the NCAA quarterfinals.

UCLA, which reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season, is ranked No. 23 in the poll. 

The men's college soccer season opens Aug. 25, with exhibitions beginning as soon as Aug. 12.
