STILLWATER, Okla. – Stanford's Charles Hicks won the men's individual title and the Pac-12 totaled 12 combined All-America finishers to highlight the Conference’s showing at the 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships at at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Okla. on Saturday.

In the men’s 10-kilometer race, the 2022 West Regional champion Stanford men (195 points) finished fourth behind NCAA titlist Northern Arizona (83), which won its sixth NCAA title in the past seven seasons. It marked the Cardinal’s ninth consecutive top-six finish, its first top-four finish since 2017, and was also the 17th year in a row the Conference landed a men’s program in the top five.

Hicks, who ran the majority of the race with Northern Arizona's Nico Young and Drew Bosley, pulled in front with just over a kilometer to go and maintained the lead to the finish. Fourteenth on the same course during the COVID-delayed NCAA meet in March 2021 and fourth last year in Tallahassee, Hicks covered a hilly and demanding 10-kilometer (6.2 mile) course in 28:43.6 to become the first individual NCAA champion for Stanford and first for the Conference since Oregon's Edward Cheserek finished off his three-peat in 2015.

The Pac-12 boasted five top-40 individual finishers and, since expanding in 2011, the Pac-12 now leads all leagues with 87 total men’s All-Americans and 18 top-5 men’s team finishes.
