Utah’s “Red Rocks Preview” and UCLA’s “Meet the Bruins” kick off the Pac-12 women’s gymnastics season on Pac-12 Networks

SAN FRANCISCO - Pac-12 women’s gymnastics returns to center stage starting this week, with Utah’sRed Rocks Preview” beginning the action on Friday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. MT on Pac-12 Network. UCLA hosts “Meet the Bruins” on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. MT on Pac-12 Insider.

Both events preview the 2023 season, in which Pac-12 Networks will air 22 women’s gymnastics clashes including the 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Gymnastics Championships, presented by Sprouts, on Saturday, March 18.

UTAH WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS
  • Red Rocks Preview” (Friday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. MT on Pac-12 Network with Jim Watson and Amanda Borden on the call) is the premier preseason tune-up for the Utes, who begin the 2023 campaign against LSU on Friday, Jan. 6 on ESPN2 in the Tigers’ first visit to the Huntsman Center since 2003.
  • Utah welcomes back seven All-Americans from a season ago, including Olympic silver medalist Grace McCallum, and added transfer Abby Brenner, who won a national championship in 2021 with Michigan. Ute fans will welcome highly-touted freshmen Sarah Krump and Makenna Smith.
  • Utah is coming off back-to-back third-place finishes at the NCAA Championships and a second-consecutive Pac-12 Championship in 2022.
  • The Utes advanced to their 46th-consecutive national championship after winning the Seattle Regional and are the only program in the nation to qualify to every national championship.
UCLA WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS
  • Meet the Bruins” airs on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. MT on Pac-12 Insider, the free streaming TV channel from Pac-12 Networks.
  • Jordan Chiles was a silver medalist in the team competition for the United States at the Tokyo Olympics. The All-American also competed in the World Championships this fall, winning two individual medals in floor exercise and vault as well as a gold medal for team USA.
  • The Bruins will be led by first-year head coach Janelle McDonald this season, who comes to Westwood after serving as an assistant coach at California where she earned two Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Regional Assistant Coach of the Year awards.
  • Chiles and fellow Olympian Brooklyn Moors, as well as Olympic alternate Emma Malabuyo and four-time All-American Chae Campbell all return to UCLA this upcoming season. The Bruins’ freshmen class includes No. 1-ranked recruit Selena Harris and two-time U.S. national team member Ciena Alipio.
