12 from Pac-12 Women’s Gymnastics earn WCGA Regular Season All-American honors

Mar 24, 2023

SAN FRANCISCO - Pac-12 women’s gymnastics saw 12 student-athletes earn WCGA Regular Season All-America honors, the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association announced Thursday. Nine of the 12 received at least one first-team status, while the 12 collected a total of 26 awards among first-and-second-team honors in the all-around and the vault, bars, beam and floor events. The 12 honorees were the second-most among all conferences in 2023.

Back-to-back Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year Jade Carey led the way as the conference’s only gymnast to earn the maximum Regular Season All-America First Team honors, picking up the award in the all-around and all four individual events. UCLA’s Jordan Chiles collected the second-most in the Pac-12 with first-team awards in the all-around and three events (vault, bars, floor), while teammate, 2023 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Selena Harris, was a first-team honoree in the all-around and earned second team honors in the vault, bars and beam. UCLA junior Chae Campbell rounded out the Bruin honorees with second team status on vault and floor.

2023 Pac-12 Champion Utah and California tied for the league-high in honors with four student-athletes apiece receiving the awards.

After the Utes posted the top beam score in the NCAA during the 2023 regular season, it’s no surprise three were named All-Americans on the event. Two-time Pac-12 Specialist of the Year, Ute senior Maile O’Keefe, was a first-team honoree after leading the country in the event all season with her teammates, sophomore Kara Eaker and senior Cristal Isa, picking up first and second team nods, respectively. Reigning NCAA Vault Champion and Ute senior Jaedyn Rucker was a Regular Season Second-Team recipient on vault.

California, who posted its highest Pac-12 Championship meet score in program history last weekend, saw sophomore Mya Lauzon earn a team-high three honors with first-team nods on vault and beam and second-team status on floor. Junior Andi Li picked up a first-team honor on bars and was a second-team award-winner in the all-around. Joining Li with a Regular Season First Team selection on bars was sophomore Maddie Williams, while standout freshman eMjae Frazier took home a first-team award on floor. The four honorees for the Bears are the most in Cal women’s gymnastics history.

Student-athletes with the top eight National Qualifying Scores (NQS) for the regular season (with ties) for each event and the all-around earn All-America honors. Second team All-America honors are earned by student-athletes ranked Nos. 9-16 (with ties) in the NQS.
