This Week 
  • Colorado (5-5, 4-1 Pac-12) begins the week against San Diego State (5-8) on Friday, April 7 in the Buffaloes’ final non-conference game of the season.
    • Colorado has won the last eight contests against the Aztecs. Friday’s game will be the Buffs’ annual Pride Game.
    • San Diego State has yet to win a road game this year.
  • On Friday, No. 21 USC (9-3, 4-1 Pac-12) returns home to face California (3-8, 1-4 Pac-12) for the second time in one week.
    • The Trojans enter the contest winning five of its last six contests, and haven't concede a game at McAlister Field this year.
    • Friday’s game will be the first of three consecutive road games for the Golden Bears.
  • Arizona State (3-7, 2-3 Pac-12) takes on RV Sanford (6-5, 4-1 Pac-12) in Tempe, Ariz. to wrap up Friday’s play.
    • Arizona State’s lone win over the Cardinal came last year at home in an 18-11 victory.
    • Stanford heads into Tempe winning three of its last four, with the lone loss coming against then-No. 2 Northwestern on the road.
  • Oregon (3-7, 0-5 Pac-12) wraps up its non-conference slate against UC Davis (7-3) on Saturday, April 8 in Eugene, Ore.
    • The Ducks are 2-1 in non-conference games at home this year, and are 14-8 all-time against the Aggies.
  • California visits the Sun Devils on Sunday, April 9.
    • Arizona State has won eight straight against the Golden Bears.
    • Cal is eyeing its second Pac-12 road win after edging Oregon on March 17.
  • Round two of RV Stanford versus No. 21 USC takes place this Sunday.
    • The Cardinal has won the last four matchups against the Trojans, however USC is 5-3 at home against Stanford.
Last Week
  • USC won its fifth-straight game in an 11-6 decision over California.
    • The win is USC’s longest win streak against one team in program history at 15 straight victories over the Golden Bears.
    • The 17 goals scored between the teams were the fewest combined goals in a Cal game this season.
  • Stanford bounced back against Arizona State, winning the conference clash and rematch of the 2022 Pac-12 Tournament Championship game, 15-9.
    • Sarah Jaques led all players with six points on two goals and four assists, while Kara Rahaim posted a season-best .706 save percentage en route to Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors.
    • Sun Devil Teagan Ng extended her goal streak to five games after getting Arizona State on the board in the first quarter.
  • Colorado took the overtime contest against Oregon for its fourth league win in five games.
    • Ashley Stokes scored the game winner as one of two goals on the day for the junior.
    • Oregon rattled off five goals in the fourth quarter to force overtime, two of which came from Madysyn Sweeney.
  • Arizona State got back in the win column in a 13-9 decision against California. 
    • The Sun Devils scored 10 goals in the first half for the second time this season.
    • Maya Lawliss notched her fourth hat trick of the season.
  • The Cardinal topped USC, 15-12 in Stanford’s first win over a ranked team this year.
    • Stanford had 25 draw controls, tied for the 11th-most recorded in Division I in 2023.
      • The Cardinal rank fourth in the country in draw controls per game at a 17.55 clip.
    • The setback snapped USC’s five-game win streak and was the first loss to an unranked team for the Trojans this year.
Notes and Numbers
  • USC comes in at No. 21 in the latest IWLCA poll, and Stanford is receiving votes for the third straight week.
  • The Pac-12 Conference announced in May 2022 the approval to extend invitations to UC Davis and San Diego State to join Pac-12 women’s lacrosse as affiliate members, beginning no later than the 2023-24 season. The decision was recommended by the Pac-12 Council and approved by the Pac-12 Board of Directors at its most recent board meeting.
    • Both UC Davis and San Diego State are in action against Pac-12 schools this weekend.
  • Stanford’s Ashley Humphrey and Rahaim earned Pac-12 Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week recognition this week, respectively. It is the eighth weekly sweep for Stanford, and second time Humphrey and Rahaim won the award in the same week after earning the nod on March 22, 2022.
  • Oregon’s Morgan McCarthy has scored in 21-straight contests, accumulating six hat tricks over that stretch.
  • Arizona State is 2-0 in league play when holding its opponent to less than 10 goals.
  • Sam McGee has been on a scoring tear for the Buffs, notching double-digit goals in seven of her last eight games including 10 goals in her last two contests. Colorado is 5-2 in games this year in which she scores multiple goals.
2023 Pac-12 Tournament
  • The 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Lacrosse Tournament will take place in Berkeley, California from May 3-6, and the tournament champion will receive the Pac-12’s automatic bid to the 29-team 2023 NCAA Tournament. All five contests of the 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Lacrosse Tournament are slated to be broadcast on Pac-12 Network and the Pac-12 Now app. The five contests are part of 17 Pac-12 Networks will broadcast this season.
