OJAI, Calif. - No. 9 seed Oregon is moving on to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Pac-12 Men's Tennis Championship after coming from behind to best No. 8 seed Arizona State, 4-3, at Libbey Park on Wednesday. The Ducks, which secured their first win at the event since 2018, will take on top-seeded USC in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 12 p.m. PT. 

ASU's Murphy Cassone and Max McKennon breezed on doubles court No. 2, winning 6-0. But Luke Vandecasteele and Vlad Breazu won on court No. 3 (6-1) and Joshua Charlton and Quinn Vandecasteele clinched the doubles point for the UO with a 6-2 victory on court No. 1.

Momentum shifted in Arizona State's favor at the start of singles, with the Sun Devils grabbing three, straight-set wins on court Nos. 1, 3 and 4 to take a 3-1 lead before the freshman Breazu collected his 15th win of the season with a 7-5, 7-5 win on court No. 5.

It would come down to the Vandecasteele brothers on court Nos. 6 and 2. Luke trailed 5-3 in the third and was at match-point, before consecutive points made it 5-4 in favor of ASU. Back on serve, he tied things up and 5-5 and ended it in the tiebreaker, 8-6. With the match now tied, 3-3, Quinn got a break in the third set for a 5-4 lead and the serve before he closed it out the 4-3 victory for Oregon.
