Apr 29, 2021

Pac-12 Player of the Year: Zach Ryan, STANFORD

Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year: Charlie Ostrem, WASHINGTON

Pac-12 Freshman of the Year: Mark Fisher, STANFORD

Pac-12 Coach of the Year: Jamie Clark, WASHINGTON

PAC-12 PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Zach Ryan, R-Jr., F, STANFORD (Chatham, N.J.)

Zach Ryan earns Pac-12 Player of the Year honors after leading STANFORD to its sixth Pac-12 Championship in the past seven seasons and the NCAA Tournament's No. 4 overall seed. Tied for sixth in the country with 10 goals and tied for fifth with 23 points, Ryan has scored in all but three of the Cardinal's 12 matches. His four-game winning goals are tied for third nationally and his overtime winner in the regular-season finale against WASHINGTON delivered Stanford its seventh Conference title in program history. Ryan is the Cardinal's seventh Pac-12 Player of the Year overall, and fifth in the last six years.

PAC-12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR – Charlie Ostrem, Jr., D, WASHINGTON (Shoreline, Wash.)

Charlie Ostrem is the second consecutive Husky to earn the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honor, following former teammate Ethan Bartlow in 2019. He played every minute in nine of Washington's 13 matches and in all but 62 of 1,179 minutes this season, working along a backline that was second in the Conference in both shutouts (6) and goals-against average (0.76). Along with his defensive efforts, Ostrem tops the league and is second in the country with 10 assists, the most for a Husky since 1998.

PAC-12 FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR – Mark Fisher, R-Fr., M, STANFORD (Grand Blanc, Mich.)

Mark Fisher has started every match in his debut season for the Cardinal. He ranks fourth on the team with three assists and has provided a steady presence in the midfield for a Stanford team that led the Pac-12 in goals-against average (0.65), ranked second in goals per game (2.42) and tied for the nation's third-best goal differential (+21). He is the fourth Stanford player to be named Freshman of the Year, joining Ousseni Bouda (2019), Aaron Kovar (2012) and Bobby Warshaw (2007).

PAC-12 COACH OF THE YEAR – Jamie Clark, WASHINGTON

Jamie Clark was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season and third time in his UW tenure (2013, 2019, 2020) after guiding the Huskies to a 10-3-0 record and their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. After losing three key members of Washington's 2019 Pac-12 title team to Major League Soccer, Clark managed his side to a runner-up showing this spring with a 7-3-0 mark in league play. The Huskies, who have outscored their opponents 31-10 this season, have been to the postseason in eight of Clark's 10 seasons at the helm.
