2020 Football in 60: Stanford at UCLA

Football
Dec 22, 2020
In a double overtime thriller, Stanford football emerged victorious, edging out UCLA 48-47 and finishing its season on a four game win streak. The game was an instant classic and very easily could have gone the other way. Trailing by a touchdown in double overtime, UCLA's backup quarterback Chase Griffin completed a 21-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-18. UCLA elected to go for the win, with Brittain Brown attempting to run it in for the two-point conversion. But he was stuffed short by the Cardinal defense, ending the game and ending the strange 2020 season for both teams. Stanford quarterback Davis Mills had a gargantuan game, throwing for 428 yards and three touchdowns.
