No. 15 Utah beat San Diego State to clinch the Salt Lake City Super Regional of the 2023 NCAA Softball Tournament on May 28, 2023. Abby Dayton and Haley Denning each had two hits and scored twice for the Utes. Mariah Lopez threw five innings to earn her 23rd win of the season. This is Utah's sixth-ever trip to the Women's College World Series and first since 1994.
