Roundup: Khalil Tate and Phillip Lindsay rush to history in Boulder

My oh my… Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate set the single game rushing record for QBs with 327 yards on 14 carries in the Wildcats’ 45-42 win at Colorado. Oh, and he also completed 11 of his 12 pass attempts for a healthy 142 yards and a touchdown. What a performance this was – 23.4 yards per carry?! He didn’t start against the Buffs, but my guess is he’ll be the No. 1 QB for the Wildcats next week.

Staying on this game, Brian Howell writes that the Colorado-Arizona game was one for the record books. Not only did Tate run for 327, but Colorado running back Phillip Lindsay rushed for 281 yards, the fourth-highest total in a single game in Colorado history, and Tate and Lindsay became the first pair of players to rush for at least 250 yards in the same game in FBS history.

During Washington State’s 33-10 win at Oregon, Luke Falk passed Marcus Mariota for second on the Pac-12 all-time passing touchdowns list. Fitting stadium to do it in, I’d say.

Blind USC long snapper Jake Olson snapped an extra point against Oregon State in Saturday afternoon’s 38-10 win over the Beavers, making him 2-for-2 on perfect PAT snaps this year (Yahoo Sports).

Interesting read from Adam Jude on ESPN’s beef with Chris Petersen following the Worldwide Leader’s broadcast of Washington’s 38-7 win over Cal. From complaining about Petersen not meeting in person with the broadcast crew instead of a phone call (which ESPN declined to take part of; guess you don’t want to prepare for the broadcast thoroughly enough) to the sideline reporter using cupcakes to symbolize Washington’s non-conference opponents (Quint Kessenich had a valid point, but as Jude writes, would they do that for an SEC team?), there was plenty of shade being thrown at Coach Pete and the Dawgs Saturday night.
