Arizona

My oh my… Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate set the single game rushing record for QBs with 327 yards on 14 carries in the Wildcats’ 45-42 win at Colorado. Oh, and he also completed 11 of his 12 pass attempts for a healthy 142 yards and a touchdown. What a performance this was – 23.4 yards per carry?! He didn’t start against the Buffs, but my guess is he’ll be the No. 1 QB for the Wildcats next week.

Colorado

Staying on this game, Brian Howell writes that the Colorado-Arizona game was one for the record books. Not only did Tate run for 327, but Colorado running back Phillip Lindsay rushed for 281 yards, the fourth-highest total in a single game in Colorado history, and Tate and Lindsay became the first pair of players to rush for at least 250 yards in the same game in FBS history.

Washington State

During Washington State’s 33-10 win at Oregon, Luke Falk passed Marcus Mariota for second on the Pac-12 all-time passing touchdowns list. Fitting stadium to do it in, I’d say.

USC

Blind USC long snapper Jake Olson snapped an extra point against Oregon State in Saturday afternoon’s 38-10 win over the Beavers, making him 2-for-2 on perfect PAT snaps this year (Yahoo Sports).

Washington

Interesting read from Adam Jude on ESPN’s beef with Chris Petersen following the Worldwide Leader’s broadcast of Washington’s 38-7 win over Cal. From complaining about Petersen not meeting in person with the broadcast crew instead of a phone call (which ESPN declined to take part of; guess you don’t want to prepare for the broadcast thoroughly enough) to the sideline reporter using cupcakes to symbolize Washington’s non-conference opponents (Quint Kessenich had a valid point, but as Jude writes, would they do that for an SEC team?), there was plenty of shade being thrown at Coach Pete and the Dawgs Saturday night.

Stanford

Here are some takeaways from Stanford’s 23-20 win at Utah, courtesy of Mark Soltau of GoStanford.com. Bryce Love rushed for 152 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown, and it was his worst game of the season. Please don’t tell me Saquon Barkley is having a better season.

California

Rusty Simmons writes that “sweeping changes” could be on the way for Cal football following the blowout loss at Washington. Nobody was happy about losing by 31 and gaining 93 yards of total offense.

Oregon State

After watching the Beavs lose by four touchdowns in the Coliseum, John Canzano believes that Oregon State football’s biggest issue is its quarterback situation.

Oregon

Former Oregon Duck Galen Rupp won the Chicago Marathon on Sunday, becoming the first American to win the event in 15 years (Chicago Tribune).

Utah

No need to relive the loss to Stanford, so maybe Utes fans would be happy to know that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith continues to play at an MVP level, throwing for 324 yards and three touchdowns to lead the 5-0 Chiefs to a 42-34 win over the Houston Texans. Adam Teicher of ESPN has the details.

UCLA

Matthew Powell scored in overtime to give UCLA men’s soccer a 1-0 win at Washington Sunday night, and you can watch the Pac-12 Networks recap in the preceding link.

Arizona State

Doug Haller gives us five things to know about Arizona State men’s basketball one week into the start of practice. Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Media Day is coming up Thursday, and the Sun Devils will be represented by head coach Bobby Hurley and players Tra Holder and Shannon Evans II.
