Pac-12 History: All-Black football officiating crew

On Dec. 19, 2020, history was made when Referee Michael Mothershed led the first all-Black officiating crew to work a Pac-12 football game for the Stanford at UCLA contest. Comprised of 11 individuals, the crew included:

  • Referee – Michael Mothershed, Chula Vista CA
  • Umpire – Michael Stephens, Riverside CA
  • Head Line Judge – Darryl Johnson, Henderson NV
  • Line Judge – Harold Mitchell, Jr., Ellenwood GA
  • Side Judge – Gary Reed, Las Vegas NV
  • Field Judge – Michael Hall, Scottsdale AZ
  • Back Judge – Antony Little, Riverbank CA
  • Center Judge – Michael Marsh, Long Beach CA
  • Instant Replay Official – Judson Howard, Los Angeles CA
  • Instant Replay Assistant – Cleo Robinson, Tucson AZ
  • Alternate Official – Javarro "Jay" Edwards, Stone Mountain GA
