Five Pac-12 teams earn 2023 NCAA Baseball Tournament bids, Stanford tabbed the No. 8 national seed

SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 has landed five teams in the 2023 NCAA Baseball Tournament for a second straight year, with Stanford earning the No. 8 overall national seed. The Cardinal, eyeing a third straight Men's College World Series appearance, will host the Stanford Regional at Sunken Diamond with a chance to stay home in the Super Regional round if they advance out of opening weekend. 

The Pac-12's other four squads will head East, with Pac-12 Tournament Champion Oregon the No. 2 seed in the Nashville Regional, Oregon State the No. 2 seed in the Baton Rouge Regional, Washington the No. 3 seed in the Stillwater Regional and Pac-12 Tournament runner-up Arizona the No. 3 seed in the Arkansas Regional. All games will be available on ESPN+.

The 16 regional winners will advance to the Super Regional round, with the selection of the eight super regional hosts set to be announced on www.NCAA.com/mcws, Tuesday, June 6 at 10 a.m. (ET). The Men’s College World Series begins play Friday, June 16, at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska.

Stanford — No. 8 Overall Seed

The Cardinal (38-16), back-to-back Pac-12 Regular-Season Champions, hosts the Stanford Regional for the sixth straight time dating back to 2017 and the 21st time overall. Making their 38th NCAA tournament appearance, Stanford will open the regional against San Jose State (31-25) on Friday, June 2 at 2 p.m. PT. Cal State Fullerton (31-22) and Texas A&M (36-25) rounds out the Stanford Regional with the two teams meeting at 7 p.m. PT on Friday.

Oregon

The Ducks (37-20) will head to Nashville to take on Xavier (37-23) on Friday, June 2 at 10 a.m. PT. After earning the league's automatic bid with a furious run to the Pac-12 tournament title, Oregon will make its 10th appearance in the NCAA postseason tournament. No. 6 overall seed and SEC tournament champion Vanderbilt (41-18) and Eastern Illinois (38-19) will meet in the other opening-round game Friday in the Nashville Regional. 

Oregon State

The Beavers (39-18), the Pac-12 regular season runner-up, will open NCAA tournament play against Sam Houston State (38-23) on Friday, June 2 at 5 p.m. PT. OSU is making its 22nd NCAA tournament appearance and sixth straight, the second-longest streak behind the Beavers' seven straight from 2009-15. No. 5 overall seed and host LSU (43-15) and Tulane (19-40) fill out the Baton Rouge Regional.

Washington

Under first-year head coach Jason Kelly, the Huskies are making a return to the NCAA postseason for the first time since they made their historic Men's College World Series run in 2018. UW (34-18), who finished third in the Pac-12 regular season standings, begin postseason action against Dallas Baptist (45-14) in the Stillwater Regional on Friday, June 2 at 10 a.m. PT. No. 11 overall seed Oklahoma State (41-18) and Oral Roberts (46-11) are the No. 1 and No. 4 seeds, respectively, in the Stillwater Regional.

Arizona 

The Wildcats (33-24) played their way into a bid over the final two weeks of the season, winning eight of their last 10, which included reaching the Pac-12 Tournament title game before coming up short in a narrow 5-4 loss to Oregon. Arizona is making its 42nd NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, the sixth most in the nation, and will face TCU (37-22) in the Fayetteville Regional Friday, June 2 6 p.m. PT on ESPNU. Arkansas (41-16), the No. 3 overall national seed, and Santa Clara (35-18) round on the four-team regional.
