Five Red Rocks Earn NCAA All-America Honors

FORT WORTH – Five Red Rocks earned NCAA All-American honors after outstanding efforts during last night's NCAA Championship semifinal. Gymnasts finishing in the top four in the all-around and on each event in each semifinal earn first team NCAA All-American honors, while the fifth through eighth place finishers are second team honorees.
 
Maile O'Keefe adds one final pair of first-team All-America honors, earning the nod on beam and floor, securing 9.9500 scores in each event. O'Keefe is now a 19-time All-American (7 regular season, 12 NCAA) during her Utah career and a four-time national champion.
 
Makenna Smith secured two first-team All-America honors with one second-team distinction in just her second NCAA Championship appearance. Smith earned first team recognition in the all-around and on vault, adding a second-team nod on the uneven bars. Smith posted a new career-high score in the all-around competition with a score of 39.6375. With a score of 9.9125 on both vault and bars. Smith now has four NCAA All-America honors to her name.
 
Abby Paulson captured her second NCAA All-America award with a first team honor on beam, scoring a 9.9500. After earning first-team distinction on beam during the regular season, Paulson added the post-season honor to her resume.
 
Securing her first All-America career award, Jaylene Gilstrap scored a 9.9500 on floor, extending her streak of 9.95s to six in a row.
 
Rounding out the awards, freshman Ella Zirbes earned her first two All-American honors of her young career, capturing first team honors on vault and second team distinction on bars.
