Heading Back to Washington

STANFORD, Calif. — For the second year in a row, Stanford women's golf was announced as the No. 1 overall seed and will head to Cle Elum, Wash. for the NCAA Regionals. Stanford has made every regional field dating back to 1993.
 
Regional action runs May 6-8 at six regional sites, with a total of 396 student-athletes competing. All six regional sites will have 12 teams and six individuals. The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team (six individuals total) from each regional site will advance to play in the NCAA Championship (156 student-athletes total). The final three days of the championship will be televised live by the GOLF Channel.
 
Cle Elum Regional Site
The Cle Elum Regional will be played at the Tumble Creek Club, hosted by the University of Washington. Conference automatic qualifiers are indicated in parenthesis next to the institution.

The tournament features 54 holes played over three days with the top five teams and one individual from non-qualifying teams advancing to the NCAA Women's Golf Championships, beginning May 17 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
 
The other five regional sites are Auburn, Ala. (Auburn), Bermuda Run, N.C. (Wake Forest), Bryan, Texas (Texas A&M), Las Vegas, Nevada (UNLV), and East Lansing, Mich. (Michigan State).
 
It has been another banner year for the Cardinal, with three wins including the final Pac-12 Championship on Tuesday. Stanford has had two individual winners (Megha Ganne – Carmel Cup, Sadie Englemann – East Lake Cup) and currently has two golfers in the top-11 of the most recent NCAA rankings through Scoreboard, powered by Clippd (Ganne – No. 8, Paula Martin Sampedro – No. 11).
 
Stanford won the Pullman Regional last year with an NCAA Regional record 50-under. The team has qualified for every national championship since 2010, as Stanford looks for its 14th straight NCAA Championship appearance.
