Apr 25, 2024

EUGENE, Ore. – The Ducks' four-meet weekend begins Friday with its first of two races at Penn Relays followed by day one of the OSU High Performance in Corvallis. Oregon is also competing at the Desert Heat Classic and Drake Relays, both scheduled for Saturday.

Elliott Cook, Matthew Erickson, James Harding and Rheinhardt Harrison will run for the Ducks at Penn Relays. Oregon is competing at the storied meet for the first time since 2017, and is entered to run the distance-medley relay Friday at 11:40 a.m. (PT) and 4x800 relay Saturday at 11:58 a.m. The 2024 Penn Relays is streaming on FloTrack.

Fellow middle-distance standouts Silan Ayyildiz and Klaudia Kazimierska are traveling to Drake Relays, running in the invitational 1500 meters Saturday at 1:23 p.m. Kazimierska enters the weekend ranked sixth in the NCAA with a 4:08.43 at the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 13). Ayyildiz ran a lifetime best of 4:10.52 at last weekend's Oregon Relays.

Day one of the OSU High Performance is highlighted by Friday night's distance carnival. The Ducks are entered in invitational sections of the 1500 and 5,000 meters, and steeplechase. The team's weekend starts with Vincent Corday in the 400-meter hurdles at 2:45 p.m. The distance races start at 4:20 p.m. with invitational heats—steeplechase up first—beginning at 6 p.m.

Katie Clute, off her 9:59 steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational, is set to run 5,000 meters, joining teammates Melissa Berry and Anika Thompson. In her last outing, Thompson ran 32:54.97 in the 10K and became the No. 5 performer in program history.

The Ducks' sprints, jumps and throws groups are in Tucson, Ariz., for the Desert Heat Classic. The one-day meet begins Saturday at 12 p.m. with the women's hammer. Reigning Pac-12 Track Athlete of the Week Aaliyah McCormick is entered in the 100 hurdles and Jaida Ross is scheduled to compete in her first shot put since breaking the collegiate record at the Triton Invite (April 6).
