SALT LAKE CITY – Utah scored five runs and never looked back in a 12-7 win over the UCLA baseball team on Sunday afternoon at Smith's Ballpark.

The decision finished off a series sweep for the Utes (29-13, 14-7 Pac-12). The Bruins dropped to 13-28, 6-18 with the loss.

UCLA played Utah even after the first inning, totaling six extra-base hits and three crooked numbers over the remainder of the game.

Junior shortstop Cody Schrier and junior second baseman Duce Gourson led the way with three knocks apiece. Schrier was one of two Bruins to homer, joining freshman third baseman Roch Cholowsky. Junior DH Jack Holman added a double and two RBIs.

The Utes used a balanced offensive attack on Sunday, as eight of nine starters had a hit and five different batters finished with multiple RBIs.

UCLA returns to action on Tuesday afternoon, making the short drive to Malibu for a 3 p.m. PT meeting at Pepperdine.
