Morales Soars to T-3rd Finish at Pac-12 Championships

CAREFREE, Ariz. – Junior Omar Morales fired a 6-under 65 in the final round of the Pac-12 Championships at Desert Forest Golf Club on Sunday, finishing in a tie for third (+2). The UCLA men's golf team placed sixth at 64-over (370-381-376-357).
 
Morales shot the best score out of the 72-golfer field in the final round with two eagles and three birdies. His day three performance matched his lowest 18-hole score of the season and moved him 13 spots up the leader board.
 
Morales leads the Bruins with seven top-10s this season.
 
Course host Arizona State won the team title with a score of 27-over (368-365-362-352). Stanford's Karl Vilips was the tournament medalist with a final score of 2-under (68-75-71-68).
 
Sophomore Kyle An joined Morales in the top 20, finishing 11-over in a tie for 15th. Junior Pablo Ereño tied for 29th (+14) and shot a 1-under 70 with seven birdies in today's fourth round.
 
Graduate Mason Greene tied for 48th (+20).
 
UCLA awaits the results of the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Selection Show on Wednesday, May 1. The Bruins could be heading to one of six locations for NCAA Regionals. The Selection Show will be aired on the Golf Channel, beginning at 11 a.m. (PT).
