Brennan Jackson Drafted in Fifth Round by Los Angeles Rams

DETROIT (April 27, 2024) – Washington State edge Brennan Jackson was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the fifth round of the 2024 National Football League Draft Saturday.
 
Jackson was selected as the No. 19 pick of the fifth round and No. 154 overall. Jackson is the first Cougar drafted by the Rams since wideout Milton Wynn was selected in the fourth round of the 2001 draft by the St. Louis Rams.
 
Washington State has had defensive player selected in the last three drafts; Watson in the seventh by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022, linebacker Daiyan Henley in the third round to the Los Angeles Chargers last season and Jaden Hicks went to the Chiefs in the fourth round early today.
 
This past season, Jackson was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team for the second straight season and he finished his career with four All-Pac-12 honors after finishing the regular season fourth in the league with 12.5 tackles-for-loss, tied for fourth with 8.5 sacks, led the country with three fumble returns for touchdowns and tied for the national lead with four fumble recoveries. The graduate student from Temecula, Calif. tallied 57 tackles, forced one fumble, broke up three passes and recorded 25 quarterback hurries.
 
Jackson finished his Cougar career with 41 starts in 44 games played, tenth in WSU history with 34.5 career tackles-for-loss and eighth in school history with 20 career sacks. Jackson also forced three fumbles, seven pass breakups, one interception and five fumble recoveries including three for touchdowns. Off the field, Jackson was a three-time Pac-12 Conference Academic Honor Roll selection, a 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District pick and 2022 NFF William V. Campbell Trophy Semifinalist given to the nation's best scholar-athlete.
