Arizona State head coach Jay Santos earns the honor for the second time after he was named the 2018 Pac-12 Coach of the Year in his second season. Since arriving in Tempe, Santos has elevated the Sun Devils into a top-20 program in the country, leading ASU to a fifth straight NCAA Regional and a third consecutive top-16 seed. ASU's NQS of 197.105 marks just the third time that the Sun Devils ended the regular season with an NQS above 197, two of which have been under Santos. The Gym Devils had an eight-meet run of scoring 196.000 or better in 2023, which included a three-meet winning streak that saw ASU upset then-No. 4 Utah for the first time since 2003, set a program record road score (197.475) at Washington and handed No. 11 Oregon State its first loss of the season with the ninth-highest score (197.725) in program history. The Sun Devils kicked off postseason competition taking first in the opening session at the 2023 Pac-12 Championships with the program's third-highest score (196.700) all-time at the conference championship meet.
